Neuromodulator FAQ'S
What are "wrinkle relaxers"?
Wrinkle relaxers like Botox®, and Xeomin® are FDA-approved injectable treatments designed to soften fine lines and wrinkles caused by repeated facial expressions. Common treatment areas include the forehead, between the brows, around the eyes, and select areas of the lower face.
These neuromodulators work by gently relaxing targeted facial muscles, helping with smooth existing lines and prevent new ones—while maintaining natural facial movement. In addition to cosmetic benefits, they are also medically approved for conditions such as migraines and excessive sweating.
What should I expect?
Your visit begins with a personalized consultation to discuss your goals and create a customized treatment plan. The injection process typically takes 10–15 minutes, with minimal discomfort and no required downtime.
Results often begin to appear within 2–5 days, with full results visible by 10–14 days. When performed by an experienced injector, results look refreshed and natural, never stiff or overdone.
Will My Face Look Overdone or Unnatural?
Natural-looking results come down to expert technique. At Plimoth Aesthetic Studio, our approach is focused on subtle enhancement—not overcorrection. You’ll still look like yourself, just refreshed, smoother, and with softened lines.
Are Wrinkle Relaxers Only for Women?
Not at all. Wrinkle relaxers are popular with men as well—often referred to as “Brotox.” In recent years, men have received over one million Botox® treatments, with common areas including the forehead, frown lines, and crow’s feet. The goal is the same: a refreshed, natural-looking appearance.
How Long Is the Recovery Time?
There is little to no downtime after treatment. Most patients are able to return to their normal activities immediately after leaving our office.
How Many Injections Are Needed?
The number of injections varies based on your goals and the areas being treated. Most patients receive approximately 3–5 injections per session. In many cases, only one session is needed, though additional treatments can help maintain or extend results if desired.
How Quickly Will I See Results?
Most patients notice results within 24–48 hours, with full results developing over the next 14 days. Results typically last up to four months, though individual outcomes may vary.
